Composite Decking & Materials

What composite brands does the company work with?

Trex (preferred), TimberTech/AZEK, and MoistureShield. As a Trex Platinum Builder, the highest certification level Trex awards, the team installs to a verified standard that unlocks Trex’s most comprehensive manufacturer warranty.

Composite decking eliminates the maintenance cycle that wood demands: no staining, no sealing, no rotting, no warping. For homeowners in Central Jersey dealing with seasonal humidity and freeze-thaw cycles, the long-term performance difference is significant.

Wood decks are available on request, but not the primary recommendation. The durability and low-maintenance advantages of composite make it a better long-term investment for most projects in the Central Jersey climate.

Pressure-treated lumber is the standard. For elevated builds, heavy-load applications, or high-moisture environments, the team can also frame in steel.

Deck Remodeling & Resurfacing

What does a deck remodel or resurfacing project include?

The existing frame is inspected and reinforced first, then new composite boards are installed over it. Resurfacing is one of the company’s primary services. It allows homeowners to upgrade the look and performance of an existing structure without a full tear-out, provided the frame is structurally sound.

That assessment is part of the two-hour on-site evaluation. Rob inspects the joists, ledger, posts, and connections before making a recommendation. If a frame is not worth saving, he says so directly and explains why at the estimate, not mid-project.

Basement Remodels

What does a basement remodel include?

Over 100 basement projects have been completed since 1997. The process starts with moisture barriers and professional sealing before any finish work begins. A dry, permanently livable space is the standard. Finishes vary by project.

The Build Process

What happens at the initial consultation?

Rob visits the property and spends approximately two hours evaluating the site grade, structure, drainage, access, and discussing layout and material options. Many homeowners sign on-site. A written estimate follows within days.

Yes. Before construction begins, every client reviews an interactive 3D model of the project. Layouts, board direction, railing styles, and dimensions are confirmed digitally before a single material is ordered. It eliminates guesswork and keeps the build on track from the start.

The team manages all municipal permitting and coordinates material deliveries. Homeowners are not left to navigate the paperwork on their own.

The 10-year craftsmanship warranty covers labor and installation quality for a decade. Any concern during that period is handled directly by the same Absolute Decks & Basements team that completed the project, no third-party routing, no call centers.
